ZAKAT: PURIFY YOUR WEALTH, UPLIFT A SOUL

At Alwaasi Charity, we honour Zakat as the third pillar of Islam — an act of worship that cleanses wealth and restores dignity to the vulnerable. Every shilling of your Zakat reaches those who truly qualify: orphans, widows, and families in crisis across Uganda.

In 2025, your Zakat fed hundreds at Sisu and Al-Johan Orphanages, supplied mattresses and food to Answar Muslim Primary School boarders, and sustained Kiburara’s 200+ pupils with meals and hygiene kits. 100% of Zakat is delivered — no deductions, full transparency.

Pay your Zakat with ease. Let us distribute it on your behalf to those in dire need.

Our aims

  • Purify your wealth while freeing hearts from hardship
  • Eradicate hunger through direct food and cash aid
  • Empower families with dignity-first support
  • Uphill socio-economic justice in line with Qur’anic command

WHERE DOES YOUR ZAKAT GO?

  • Food Security & Essentials Zakat funds monthly food baskets (posho, beans, oil, rice) for widows and orphans at Sisu, Al-Johan, and Kiburara communities. In 2025, we delivered over 1,200 parcels across Luwero, Jinja, and Kasese.

  • Cash Assistance Where safe and appropriate, we hand Zakat directly to guardians — empowering them to buy medicine, pay rent, or school fees. One widow in Luwero used hers to restart a small vegetable stall.

“Charity does not decrease wealth, nor does the Lord forgive but He increases honour.” — Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
