Iftar Distribution Program

Program Overview

Guided by the Holy Quran’s call to charity and the generous example of Prophet Mohammed, Al Waasi Charity’s Iftar Distribution Program provides nutritious meals to fasting Muslims during Ramadan. Since our founding in 2018, we have worked to ensure that vulnerable families in Uganda’s Muslim communities can break their fast with dignity, fostering spiritual fulfillment and community solidarity.

Our Objectives

  • Provide Nutritious Iftar Meals: Distribute wholesome meals to families in need during Ramadan to support their fasting and spiritual journey.
  • Strengthen Community Bonds: Bring Muslims together through shared meals and acts of charity, promoting unity and compassion.
  • Support Vulnerable Households: Prioritize widows, orphans, and low-income families to ensure no one is left hungry during the holy month.
  • Reflect Islamic Values: Deliver transparent, donor-funded distributions that embody the spirit of Ramadan’s generosity.

What We Do

  • Iftar Meal Distribution: We prepare and distribute hot, nutritious meals or food packages containing staples like rice, dates, beans, and cooking oil to families across communities.
  • Community Iftar Events: We organize communal iftar gatherings at mosques or community centers, where Muslims can break their fast together and strengthen social ties.
  • Targeted Support: We identify and prioritize vulnerable households through collaboration with local Muslim leaders to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
  • Volunteer Engagement: We mobilize community volunteers to assist with meal preparation, packaging, and distribution, fostering a collective spirit of giving.
