Program Overview
Guided by the teachings of the Holy Quran and the charitable legacy of Prophet Mohammed, Al Waasi Charity’s Mosque Construction and Dawah Program strengthens the spiritual and social fabric of Uganda’s Muslim communities. Since our founding in 2018, we have been committed to building and renovating mosques while spreading the word of Allah through educational outreach and community engagement, fostering faith, unity, and resilience.
Our Objectives
- Build and Renovate Mosques: Construct and restore mosques to provide safe, accessible spaces for worship and community gatherings.
- Spread Islamic Knowledge: Conduct dawah activities to educate communities about the teachings of Islam, promoting spiritual growth and moral values.
- Foster Community Unity: Create inclusive spaces that bring Muslims together for prayer, learning, and social support.
- Ensure Sustainability: Deliver transparent, donor-funded projects that meet community needs and stand the test of time.
What We Do
- Mosque Construction and Renovation: We build new mosques in underserved areas and restore existing ones, equipping them with prayer spaces, sanitation facilities, and accessibility features for all community members, including persons with disabilities.
- Dawah Outreach: We organize regular Islamic education sessions, including Quran study circles, lectures, and workshops, led by knowledgeable scholars to deepen understanding of Islam and encourage its practice.
- Community Engagement: We collaborate with local Muslim leaders and residents to ensure mosques serve as hubs for worship, education, and social activities, such as charity drives and youth programs.
- Resource Provision: We supply mosques with essential materials, such as prayer mats, Qurans, and sound systems, to enhance the worship experience and support dawah efforts.
